The BBC
Date of the project: July 2005 to September 2005
Description of the project: Edwards carried out the removal and storage of equipment for the BBC Blast team. The project took place over a three month period and included removals in Newquay, Luton, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Great Yarmouth, Slough, Hull etc.
At each venue, our crew were on site for 2 days or more and were required to assemble/set up equipment and then dismantle/take down equipment. Between the trips to each City, Edwards stored the equipment at our warehouse in London NW10.
Ealing Council
Project Date: April/May 2006
Scope of work: Edwards Removals arranged delivery of election equipment to 168 Polling stations throughout the Borough of Ealing prior to the Council Elections on 4th May 2006. This included delivery of polling booths, ramps, tables and chairs. We also fixed up notice boards with the "notice of poll " poster at each polling station. The night before the election removal crews worked through the night installing ramps and setting up furniture in the temporary polling stations.
On election day, we had men on standby, who were available to deliver equipment, if required. The night after the election we had removal men working through the night collecting the equipment from the temporary polling stations.
After the election, we collected all the equipment from all of the 168 polling stations.
Additional responsibilities included sitting traffic cones in advance of the delivery of port-a-cabins, delivering water bottles to polling station staff, delivering and collecting count equipment and checking the electricity supply in the temporary cabins.
Sterling Insurance
Date of project: November 2006
Edwards carried out the relocation for Sterling Insurance, who moved their 2 offices in Folkestone to a new head office in West Malling, Kent. A total of 200 people were moved from these 2 locations. The project comprised of the transfer of 1900 crates, 7 safes and furniture including over 75 tambour units, each over 7 feet high. The contents of each tambour unit were packed and unpacked sequentially into crates. In addition, the contents of a large store room were relocated, which included the dismantling and reassembling of a variety of different types of racking. The move took place over a 10-day period, with over 20 men per day allocated to the project during the main weekend.
Company: David Webster Lighting
Dates of removal: April 06 and September 06
In April 2006 Edwards carried out the removal of David Webster Lighting from their head office in Stanstead Abbotts in Hertfordshire to their new office in Harlow. The move took place over a 5-day period and 100 people were relocated. Included in the contract was the packing and unpacking of computers, the supply of a dedicated team to move server equipment, the removal of 3 safes, dismantling and reassembling racking in the archive storage area, the removal of 500 crates and an additional collection from an office in SW1. In September 2006 we carried out a further move for David Webster Lighting from Hertfordshire to Ponders End. This move was carried out over a 4-day period and included an internal move and re-organisation at Ponder End.
Company: Tony Gee and Partners
Date of project: December 2006
Edwards carried out the removal of 80 people from 2 offices at High Street Cobham to the new, refurbished office in Esher over a period of 8 days. The main relocation took place over one weekend and a 12-man crew and 3 Heavy Goods Vehicles were provided each day. In addition, we also provided a crew to assist with packing the crates and moving non-essential furniture in the week preceding the main removal.
Also, we disposed of unwanted furniture, carried out an internal move in Esher and delivered a vehicle load of furniture to Birmingham. 3 safes were moved, computers were packed and unpacked and furniture was dismantled, reassembled and set up according to the floor plans.
Client: Corporation of London
Date of project: December 2006
In December 2005 Edwards carried out a 50-person move on behalf of The Corporation of London from Moor Lane, London EC2 to Lauderdale Place, London EC2. The contract included the removal of all the office furniture, computer equipment and crates.
Desks were dismantled at the old address due to narrow access and reassembled and set up at the new address according to the clients floor plans. In addition to the main move we also sequentially packed, moved and unpacked the contents of a roller racking system and provided a dedicated crew to move the Director's office. The project took place over a 4-day period.
Client: Datamonitor
Type of Company: Market Research
Edwards arranged the removal on behalf of Datamonitor, when the Company bought Verdict Research and moved them from Berners Street, London W1 to Station House in Swiss Terrace. In addition to this relocation we have been supplying removal crews to Datamonitor on a regular basis to assist the Company when they move staff between their various offices at Marlborough House on Finchley Road, Station House, Swiss Terrace and Charles House on Finchley Road.
Sir Robert McAlpine
Date of removals: March 2006 and September 2006
In March, Edwards carried out a 3-day move of about 80 people at 40 Bernard Street WC1. The majority of furniture was moved from the 5th floor to the 1st floor and some furniture was re-positioned on the 5th floor.
In September, we carried out a 2-day removal of about 50 people move from 4 Halkin Street SW1 to Montrose Place SW1 - this building had recently been refurbished by Sir Robert Mcalpine.
Russell Cooke Solicitors
Dates of removal: March 2006 and September 2006
Description of the project: This removal in March included 3 main phases. The first phase was an internal move at their office in Kingston, where we moved staff into a newly refurbished area. The second and third phases were removals from their office in Surbiton and Thames Ditton to their office in Kingston.
Edwards packed and unpacked crates for the client during each phase of the move. In September, Edwards carried out an internal move at another branch of Russell Cooke at 113 Upper Richmond Road. Their staff were moved from the second floor to the ground floor with the move commencing on a Friday night after hours and completing on the Monday morning. A full packing and unpacking service was provided in conjunction with the move.
